Coach Thom Marketing

THOM TSCHETTER

Coach, Marketing Master, Public Speaker

Marketing Coach, Thom Tschetter, solves sales and marketing problems.

Thom’s fascination with sales and marketing began with door-to-door sales during high school and college. Thom recalled with a smile, “After two years of playing college football, my lack of size, speed, and skills brought my playing days to an end.” No football meant no scholarship, so he paused his education for a stint in the military. The GI Bill and various sales jobs provided the money and flexibility he needed to complete his degree in Economics and Marketing.

In 1981, Thom opened The Transmission Factory in Marysville, Washington. He quipped, “This was an unlikely career choice because I had no mechanical skills or knowledge. I didn’t know the difference between a (- +) negative and positive screwdriver or which end to hold on to, but I knew how to sell. I just needed to learn how to speak car.” In 1996, The Transmission Factory was selected as The Blue Chip Enterprise Number One Small Business in Washington State and in their National Top 10.

In August 1992, the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA) asked Thom to teach Sales, Marketing, and Management Seminars that mirrored his company’s practices and to write a business column in GEARS Magazine. While still the CEO of The Transmission Factory, Thom began presenting seminars throughout North America and still writes his GEARS Magazine column called Up Your Business.

Since selling his company in 2005, Thom has enjoyed, what he calls his encore career, helping thousands of repair shops achieve greater success. ATRA surprised Thom with a Lifetime Achievement Award at its 2022 International Powertrain Expo.

Thom paid the price of making marketing mistakes and blunders in his own shops, so you don’t have to. Don’t waste another dime on advertising that doesn’t work. With Coach Thom Marketing, you don’t buy advertising, you invest in results.

With over 40 years of field-testing and experimentation, Thom has developed and copyrighted the FIMS – Fully Integrated Marketing System © to address the auto repair industry’s marketing dilemma. “How do we market something people don’t want, even when they need it, to a market that doesn’t trust us?”

Carl Borsani

Website Developer, Graphic Designer, SEO & SEM Expert, Public Speaker

Carl began his marketing career in 1988. Since then, he’s worked with several marketing and advertising agencies where he advanced into leadership positions. Through that experience, he gained a unique understanding of the marketing business from the perspective of both a creative director and a marketing specialist, working directly with clients.

Carl’s career began before the official launch of the internet. Early on, he recognized the importance of a strong web presence for driving customers to a business.

Carl has mastered internet tools and understands how to leverage those tools for optimum website performance. He’s worked with automotive repair shops for over 10 years and is the primary Website, SEO, and Search Engine Marketing resource for members of the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA).

Years of research and development led Carl to the “KISS”, Keep ISSimple, concept of website design. This concept is the perfect approach for automotive repair shops. It focuses on only what’s important to customers who are looking for auto repair services using Google or other search platforms.

The easier you make it, the more likely they’ll call!
