How to Find Your Inspiration

The team at Birds iSocial wishes you a happy upcoming fall season! The month of September often signals the start of back to school and the end of the blissful months of summer. When the fall season begins to creep in, it often triggers increased productivity. There's often so much to do in the month of September, and with that comes a need for channeling and finding one's inspiration.

The
Oxford Languages define inspiration as the following:

"The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative."

Texas A&M University Commerce's Daniel Chadborn and Stephen Reysen's take on inspiration involves both a passive and an active aspect. They state, "inspiration is passive in the sense that you see someone else who leads you to want to improve yourself and active in that it leads you, in turn, to want to create something of value." We wanted to give five different pointers on finding and channeling your inspiration as the fall months begin for our September blog. The Birds iSocial team presents "How to Find Your Inspiration."

Don't Give Up. Even though it seems like the easy way out, keep pushing on yourself when you can't seem to get inspired. There have been many instances of throwing in the towel and being honest, and it's the easiest way to conclude. Perhaps instead, take a moment to change your surroundings and pinpoint that inspiration and try to work your way back to it.

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." —
Mae West.

Change Perspectives

Sometime's we hold onto specific thoughts or ideas so tightly we become wrapped up in thinking that's the only acceptable form of inspiration. Take a step back and accept that it's okay to shift your focus & begin to look in other directions for sources of inspiration. As stated earlier, we feed and find inspiration from one another; someone else's ideas and beliefs can help guide us to greater heights. Another tip is to be specific about the vision you want to bring to life. A dream with a purpose that's connected back to you is so powerful. Why do you want what you're wanting? What is the end goal you want to reach?

"Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up."–
Thomas A. Edison.

Take a Break

If you do not feel as inspired as you would like to be, listen to yourself! Take a break from whatever plans you're concuring and perhaps take something else on for a moment or spend your time focused on someone else. It is impossible to be inspired and productive 100% of the time, and sometimes we forget that, so cut yourself some slack! Taking a mental break can be what you needed to get yourself out of your current rut, and in turn, perhaps you'll see things in a different light.

"Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood." —
Helen Keller.

Lean on Others. Perhaps what you need to shed light back onto your current projects is another person (or persons) perspective! Invest in building a group dynamic aids in providing different views. Partnering up with people means sharing and giving all sorts of different perspectives. Together, you may find that bouncing more creative ideas off each other is what you ultimately needed.

"The healthiest response to life is joy." —
Deepak Chopra.

Break Up Your Inspiration.

If what you're looking to get done or concur requires a great deal of time, or it seems like your inspiration is too far away, break it down into manageable pieces and begin where you feel the best. You may not get that one sizeable great idea, but perhaps you'll have several small ideas that you can build up into something grand.
